Learn the basics; then, master the basics!
Margaret Bramer
Here are some of the most asked questions I get as a personal trainer/nutrition coach…
-Should I do keto?
-Will I lose more weight if I do intermittent fasting?
-Should I track my macros?
– I watched a Netflix documentary that said I should be vegan. What do you think?
I have answers for all of these. Honestly, I have quite a strong opinion on them. I could go through each one and fill pages upon pages telling you that strong opinion. But I won’t. I am going to keep it short and give you one response to all of the above questions.
Can you…
Eat mindfully, recognize your fullness and your hunger cues, eat correct portions, try to eat mostly whole, minimally processed foods, eat adequate protein and also stay hydrated?
If you cannot do these things, consistently then no, you should not: try keto, intermittent fasting, tracking macros or decide based on a Netflix documentary to completely overhaul your diet.
Why?
Because that is comparable to trying algebra before you even know how to add and subtract.
Learn the basics; then, master the basics by practicing them consistently. And I am willing to bet, IF you do those things, you will see changes in your overall health and your body composition.
